TYPES Concentric square edge with 45° bevel; eccentric type; segmental type; quarter circle, conical entrance
FACING Contact faces grooved as MSS - SP 6 for asbestos free gaskets. Contact faces with 125 RMS smooth finish for metal jacketed gaskets.
MARKING Tag number, nominal size, rating bore diameter, material and indication "UPSTREAM"
USE Concentric type for clean fluids with low viscosity. Eccentric type fpr dirty fluids.

* For liquids one vent hole is drilled at the top and for steam and gases one drain is drilled at the bottom of plate.

FLOW CALCULATION

To determine bore diameter it is necessary to specify:

  • Type of fluid
  • Pipe diameter
  • Installation (vertical or horizontal)
  • Type of pressure taps
  • Type of chart and differential required (DP)
  • Maximum flow
  • Average flow
  • Operating pressure
  • Base pressure
  • Operating temperature
  • Base temperature
  • Specific gravity (at base and operating conditions. Gases should be related to air). Absolute viscosity in "centipoises" at operating conditions. For steam specify vapor ratio.
